Short description: The Buoy is a simple self empowerment tool based on emotional work and deep relaxation breathing. The method aims at gaining control over your emotions leading to a fuller sense of wellbeing. The practical methods and ideas behind them are discussed. This course is intended for those who wish to use it to help their clients or for themselves.
Aim: By the end of the course participants are proficient in the methods taught in The Buoy and can use them in consultancy as well as for their own self empowerment.
Curriculum: Learning about feelings and practical exercises. The basic emotions are discussed and a method introduced to break the bondage of difficult feelings and trauma. Learning how to avoid codependence and build healthy self confidence. Learning how the breath affects feelings and the practice of deep relaxation breathing is taught. You will be given specific keys for self empowerment.

The Light Buoy
Qualifications to teach: A CD is purchased with teaching materials from The Buoy, and will practice teaching using the materials as well as attend guidance sessions. Only 3-4 people are in each guidance session. A diploma is given at the end of this training and the participant’s name is added on The Buoy’s Homepage.
This course to become an accredited teacher of The Buoy method is only intended for professionals and those who have taken the basic course.
In The Light Buoy course participants are given the necessary guidance to effectively use the techniques of The Buoy in teaching. It is to protect the good reputation that The Buoy has earned and to guarantee a continuous high quality in teaching the method. The Buoy is currently being taught in various social, health, and education establishments in Iceland where keeping high professional standards are of the greatest importance. The participants receive all the materials on The Buoy method. They will receive materials for teaching and lecturing on a CD at the end of the course.
